Archuleta County Homes in Archuleta County
Archuleta County is a land that can tell many stories. Its history is so rich with who has lived there and what was found there. Archuleta County was the embodiment of the Wild West, with all the troops, cowboys and Indians having gunfights and stagecoach holdups. Cattle and sheep ranching and the lumber industry helped bring the railroad to Pagosa Springs in 1900s. Pagosa Springs grew into Fort Lewis and remained that way even when the fort moved west. Pagosa Springs is the only incorporated town in Archuleta County. With all the beautiful scenic panoramas of mountains, forests, and streams, buyers with extra money to spend came from all around the Country and helped grow this wonderful county into the unique experience you get to see and live in today.
